Winemaking

The Durif was harvested from three vineyards in the Riverina in the across 3 weeks in March. The fruit was de-stemmed and crushed then fermented in static fermenters with an addition of premium French oak chips for five days and pumped over regularly to optimise colour stability, and tannin structure. Each parcel was drained, pressed and stored in stainless steel tanks until malolactic fermentation was complete. Separate parcels were then transferred onto French oak staves/premium oak chips and matured for approximately four months, giving a subtle and delicate oak influence. The wine was then matured in tank prior to crossflow filtration and bottling.

"Sweetly ripe and inviting, the bouquet shows black/blueberry, floral, olive and toasted nut aromas, followed by a succulent palate offering generously textured mouthfeel backed by loads of silky tannins. Flavoursome and fabulously drinkable. At its best: now to 2028"

Stuart Knox - The Real Review

88 Points

"Deep and vibrant purple colour in the glass. Mulberry, leather and chocolate aromatics. Big and bold on the tongue. Loaded with plum conserve, chocolate and some savoury dark-earth notes. Supple tannins don't quite manage the exuberance but at this price there’s a lot to enjoy."

Dan Traucki

"A fabulous ready to drink Durif - no need to cellar for 5-10 years. Big & bright, deeply coloured, with vibrant aromas of red black berries + a smidge of spice on the very appealing bouquet. The palate is juicy, tight & spicy, with lashings of enticing flavours with a long lingering finish. Absolotuely superb! "
